College of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering

Department of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering in the Taiyuan University of Technology contains Physics, Optical Information Science and Technology Department, Department of Light Source and Lighting Engineering, University Physics Teaching Department, Physics Experiment Center, Institute of Measurement and Control Technology, Institute of Optoelectronic Engineering and the New Sensor Engineering Center in the Shanxi province. It is the main support organization of the key laboratory in the new sensor and intelligent control of the Ministry of Education (Shanxi Province).

At present, the college has 132 teaching staff totally, 6 distinguished Professors of the "Hundred Talents Program" in Shanxi Province, one selected in "Hundred Talents Program" in the Chinese Academy of Sciences, one Changjiang Scholar Professor, 17 full-time professors, 41 associate professors, 101 teachers with doctoral degree, 13 doctoral supervisors and 94 master’s supervisors, 2 academic and technical leaders in the Shanxi Province, 3 top-notch talented teenagers in the high school of Shanxi Province, 2 people selected in the " 333 Talents in the new century academic and technical leaders Project" in the Shanxi Province, 13 outstanding academic leaders of the institutions of higher education, one famous teacher in Shanxi Province, one scholar of Xiangjiang , 3 “Young Sanjin scholars” of Shanxi province , 2 excellent master’s instructors of Shanxi province, 16 leading talents of the institutions of higher education in Shanxi province.

The college now consists of three undergraduate majors, a two-level doctoral degree, two interdisciplinary doctoral degrees, seven academic master's degrees, two professional master's degrees, a master's degree in engineering. It has a provincial experimental demonstration center, two provincial quality courses, two provincial boutique resource sharing classes, a Shanxi provincial brand professional, a Shanxi provincial excellent instructor team of the graduate education, a Shanxi provincial outstanding innovation team of the institution of higher education, a Shanxi Provincial science and technology innovation focus team. There are 873 undergraduates, 306 master's degrees and 14 doctoral students.

In 2016, college research contract funds is totally 12.855 million yuan, 11.133 million yuan of funds and the new discretionary funds are 43 million. 53 New scientific research projects are added, including 14 national projects, 35 provincial and ministerial level Projects, 4 enterprise technology development and service projects. 41 national invention patents, 5 utility model patents and13 software copyrights are authorized. The college applies for 34 federal invention patents and one utility model patent. Our teachers as the first author or the corresponding author published a total of 116 academic papers, which were included 82 papers in the SCI. Among them, 52 papers above two areas,66 papers above three areas. The impact factor greater than 10 has two academic papers, and 7 papers were included by EI.

Optoelectronic Information Science and Engineering

Cultivation Goals: The professionals are trained to adapt to the China's photoelectric information industry development needs, with a solid mathematical and physical basis, having a wide range of professional knowledge in the photoelectric information access, transmission, processing and application, and strong English language applications and practical ability, becoming the wide-caliber and comprehensive high-level professionals in scientific research, teaching, product design and development and production technology management in the fields of optoelectronic information processing, communication technology, electronic information technology and optoelectronics. Students who want to study can continue to pursue master's and doctoral degrees in optical engineering, information and communication engineering, electronic science and technology.

Light Source and Lighting
