On 21stMarch, Taiyuan University of Technology's (TYUT) communist party committee held a meeting to deliver the spirit of the two sessions. In the meeting, National People’s Congress (NPC) representative and president of TYUT Huang Xueqing started by detailing the first annual session of the 13thNational People’s Congress, before expressing his own thoughts about the grand occasion.
Mr. Huang stated that the session, which he pointed out was democratic, unified, realistic and progressive, highlighted socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, as proposed by President Xi Jinping. He felt that President Xi's speech and the government report of Prime Minister Li Keqiang conveyed insight into new developments and commitments that will benefit the Chinese people, two points which greatly encouraged citizens all over the country.
Mr. Huang emphasized that as a “first-rate” university, TYUT should maintain the pace of reform, highlighting the cultivation of talent, fundamental research and original innovation in order to provide the manpower and technological support needed for the elevation of the province rising and the prosperity of the nation.
Mr. Wu said that the president's speech indicated the broad vision and great ambition, with which the communist party has inspired so many Chinese people. He also pointed out the importance of digesting the spirit of the speech and the two sessions. He put forward the requirement for the whole faculty at TYUT to learn and implement this spirit in their work and to help better TYUT as a “first-rate” university, part of the “1331 project”, and as a pioneer of the energy revolution.
