On the evening of December 23, the 2021 New Year Concert of Taiyuan University of Technology was held in Shanxi Grand Theater. Representatives of people from all walks of life, school leaders, and representatives of teachers and students watched the performance.
Professor Zheng Qiang, Secretary of the CPC Committee of Taiyuan University of Technology, delivered a speech on behalf of the university, extending New Year's greetings to people from all walks of life, alumni, and teachers and students of TYUT. He expressed sincere thanks to their long-term care and support to TYUT, and said that 2020 will be an extraordinary year. In the face of the severe and complex international situation and the severe impact of the COVID-19, the Central Committee of the CPC has united and led the people of the whole country to make hard work. 2021 witnessed the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, and it is also the year when the first goal of the "Two Centenary Goals" is achieved. On the occasion of the New Year, all teachers and students of TYUT use the most beautiful music and the most sincere blessings to praise the great Party and the great motherland, bless the people of the whole country and the people of Shanxi province, and also wish TYUT a more brilliant and beautiful future. He said that higher education aims to cultivate students with perfect personality, great dreams, and a sense of responsibility. Taiyuan University of Technology attaches great importance to aesthetic education, and guides students to stimulate their patriotism and persistence of science through the education of art and music. He pointed out that the teachers and students of TYUT will adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, and strive to build Taiyuan University of Technology into a comprehensive, research-oriented, and high-level university.
This concert is hosted by Taiyuan University of Technology and organized by the College of Art of TYUT. The Shanxi Symphony Orchestra, the practical teaching partner of the College of Art in TYUT will perform together. This is the first time that Taiyuan University of Technology has held a New Year's concert at Shanxi Grand Theater. Ouyang Wangjian, a well-known young conductor in China, permanent conductor of Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra, and chief conductor of Beijing Oriental Symphony Orchestra, served as the conductor. The high-level performance of teachers from the Department of Music and Dance and specially-appointed guest professors of Taiyuan University of Technology won warm applause and compliment.
