2021/10/24 15:34:42

On October 22, TYUT held the 2021 Major Festival in west square of Mingxiang campus.

The major exposition provides platforms for 24 colleges to present the highlights of different majors, so that students can enhance their understanding of campus culture and discipline classification.

The students and faculty were entertained by the fashion show from the College of Textile Engineering, the martial arts from the College of Physical Education, and dance performance from the College of Arts. The College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering brought to the exhibition the coal mine inspection robot, which caught everyone’s eyes.

The 2021 Major Festival consists of 4 sections, including Major exposition, Major Talks, Major Open day, and Major online. Each college makes full use of a booth with 18 square meters to introduce its discipline construction, major advantages, features, and the latest academic results, enabling students to widely understand the development achievements and trend of majors, enhance their cognition and passion on majors, and stimulate their interests and enthusiasms on majors.

The items in the exposition are perfectly integrated with scientific innovation and interesting elements, attracting crowds of people to experience in different booths.  Equestrianism performance from the College of Physical Education, the mobility vehicle “infantry robot” that participated ROBOCON……

Freshmen come to the Major Festival with a stamp album. They need to collect stamps of majors, and everyone who collects more than 30 stamps across 6 colleges can win a souvenir.

Major Talks is set up to introduce the history, current situation and future expectations of different colleges. Some senior schoolmates also share their learning experience with freshmen. During Major Open Day, students can visit scientific research platforms, participate salon activities organized by labs, and experience instruments and equipment. Taking advantage of new media, Major Online aims to present a 3-minutes video,  guiding students to know the research projects and discipline features of different colleges.

Recent years, TYUT has optimized the major classification and increased professional strengths. At the same time, the student-centered concept has been deeply implemented. Students can choose their favorable majors in line with their self-growth.
