On April 25, the 2019 World University Supercomputer Competition (ASC19) ended at Dalian University of Technology. The team of Taiyuan University of Technology won the first prize again, and cooperated with Sun Yat-sen University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the University of Ellangen-Nuremberg in Germany to become the first winner of the Supercomputer Team Competition in the history of ASC.
The team was dispatched by TYUT’s Super-computing Innovation Practice Base. Under the instruction of teacher Guo Xuejun from College of Data Science, the team consisted of Han Zidong(College of Data Science), Li Junhong (College of Information and Computer), Zhang Ziyang , Chen Yahe (College of Computer Science and Technology) and Liu Hangfan (College of Software).
The Super-computing Innovation Practice Base in TYUT is aimed to promote learning through ASC competition, adhering to the motto of "seeking truth and innovation" in the competition field. Students’ great performance in ASC is of great value to the development of high-performance computing application and technology promotion in TYUT, and further promotes the combination of super-computing with subjects in the field of big data and artificial intelligence.
