Recently, the European Commission has awarded the Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Actions Seal of Excellence Award, as part of the Horizon 2020 scientific research plans, to Cui Yanxia, a young professor and doctoral supervisor from the department of Light Sources and Illumination at Taiyuan University of Technology, for her great contribution to the surface isolates thermal electron detector research project.
Horizon 2020 is one of the biggest official science and technology development plans. As a part of this scheme, the Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) are prestigious and widely competed for throughout Europe. Receiving The Seal of Excellence Award represents high recognition from European peers of professor Cui and has bolsteredthe international academic reputation of TYUT.
Professor Cui Yanxia started working at TYUT in 2011. She was promoted from a lecturer to a professor in 2013 and became a doctoral supervisor in 2017. She served as a scholar at Hong Kong Baptist University from 2014 to 2016. Professor Cui is engaged in long-term research in this field and has published 56 SCI papers to date, which have been referenced over 1,600 times, including 4 highly-cited ones.
She has taken responsibilities in 3 state projects and 11 provincial projects. She was honored as part of the Shanxi Outstanding Youth Fund (2017), the Shanxi Young Scholar programme(2016), the Shanxi Top-Notch Young Talents programme(2014), and the Hong Kong Scholar programme(2013).
