From April 24 to 25, the 2026 Student Track and Field Meet of Taiyuan University of Technology (TYUT) was held at the East Track and Field Ground of Mingxiang Campus. A total of 30 delegations and over 1,000 athletes participated in the event.
On the morning of April 24, the opening ceremony took place. The national flag guard, the university flag team, the meet flag team, the marching band, the flower team, the flag team, and athlete delegations from various colleges entered the venue in sequence, incorporating academic elements and youthful energy into their formation choreography. A solemn flag-raising ceremony followed.
After a TYUT’s leader announced the opening of the meet, a series of vibrant cultural and sports performances were presented: TYUT’s dance troupe performed Brightness; the marching band and the Qiushi College formation presented Songs of the Phoenix · Setting Sail for Youth; the College of Textile Engineering and the College of Artificial Intelligence jointly presented Shanxi Folk Rhythmic Gymnastics, which integrated local cultures such as Jinzhong Flower Opera, Qitai Yangge Opera, and Shouyang Nuo Dance with modern rhythmic gymnastics.
During the two days of competition, athletes competed in sprints, long-distance running, field events, and relays, breaking multiple TYUT’s records. They showed fierce determination on the field while enthusiastic cheers came from the stands. Referees, staff, and volunteers each did their part to ensure the smooth running of the event.
On the afternoon of April 25, the meet completed all events and held a closing ceremony, where awards were presented to the winning teams and individuals. The meet came to a successful close with the TYUT anthem, showcasing the unity, perseverance, and competitive spirit of TYUT students.
