On September 21st, the visiting delegation formed by government and business figures from Rheinland-Pfalz of German visited Taiyuan University of Technology (TYUT), accompanied by Xiaosheng Zhang , deputy director of Shanxi Commerce Department. Weiguo Liang , vice-president of TYUT hosted the welcome ceremony and forum on the 6th floor in Yifu Building.
In the speech, Xiaosheng Zhang introduced the background of the visit of Germany delegation. He said, this was a return visit with a significant meaning after Huining Luo, Party Secretary of Shanxi Province, paid a successful visit to German from September 3rd to 5th, during which China’ Shanxi (German) Business and Talent Cooperation Forum was held. The forum broadened the cooperative channel for the two countries and provided to the Germany government a new perspective of Shanxi’s transformative development. Therefore, this return visit improved the effect of cooperative exchanges and offered an opportunity to demonstrate the new image and development of China (Shanxi).
Bundestag Antje Lezius, head of the delegation, introduced the visiting members and expressed the hope for more connection and cooperation in such areas as talents cultivation, subject intercommunion, higher education, etc. between Germany universities, research institutions and TYUT. Also, she expected to further the business cooperation based on the current ones.
Weiguo Liang , vice-president of TYUT, welcomed the Germany delegation on behalf of TYUT. He introduced the university’s history, scale, teacher resource, discipline construction, talent introduction and scientific research cooperation, “double first-rate” establishment, internationalized development, the building of Confucius institutes, the cooperation with Germany universities, etc. He expressed the hope for deeper exchanges and cooperation based on the advantageous subjects of both sides such as environmental engineering.
The delegation also visited the engineering training center and showed great interest in the robot manufacturing and students’ training.
