Yinong Liu, vice-president of University of Western Australia (UWA), visited TYUT on March 25. Liang Weiguo, vice-president of TYUT, met with the guests.
Mr. Liang introduced the history of TYUT and its global strategies with the main goal of internationalization in teaching, research, students and management and further exchanges and cooperation with the world's top universities. He said that TYUT and UWA are both century-old university. Both sides have a high degree of correspondence and high enthusiasm for cooperation in engineering major disciplines. In recent years, especially since the signing of the cooperation agreement between the two universities, the two sides have maintained close personnel exchanges and frequent high-level visits, and the cooperation has been expanded and deepened.
He hoped that the two universities could seize the favorable opportunity for our province to create a new height of the energy revolution and strengthen the cooperation between the two universities in the fields of new energy and new engineering, especially in scientific research. Meanwhile, Mr. Liang also introduced the setup of the third semester in TYUT to the guests and hoped that UWA would give support on teaching staff.
Yinong Liu expressed his gratitude for the warm reception and appreciation for the active academic atmosphere of TYUT. He briefly introduced the development of UWA, and said that UWA attaches great importance to the all-round, wide-ranging and in-depth cooperation with TYUT, and will intensify efforts to further the cooperation.
During the visit, Yinong Liu and his delegation also had academic exchanges with College of Materials Science and Engineering, and exchanged in-depth views on issues such as connection of undergraduate courses of TYTU and UWA with College of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering, College of Mining Engineering, College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.
