On the morning of May 18th, Nick Petford, president of the University of Northampton, visited TYUT. The two sides had a cooperative discussion in the meeting room 324 in the main office building. Vice-president of TYUT Lv Yongkang attended the meeting.
Lv Yongkang extended a warm welcome to the visit of president Petford and his delegation. He introduced to the guests about YTUT’s construction of the "double first-class" disciplines and its strategy for further international cooperation. He highly appreciated the scientific achievements of president Petford, and the unique advantages of University of Northampton in teaching and scientific research. Lv pointed out that TYUT has a solid foundation in the fields of energy, chemical, mining, materials and economic management, and expressed the hope that the two universities could carry out cooperation in various fields and contribute to their common sustainable development.
At the meeting, Lv presented president Petford with the appointment letter of visiting professor at Taiyuan University of Technology. Then they signed a memorandum of understanding on behalf of the two sides.
President Petford introduced the basic information of University of Northampton and thanked TYUT for its warm reception to him and his delegation. He hoped that the two universities could carry out specific project cooperation as soon as possible.
After the signing ceremony, the two sides also had an in-depth discussion on the cooperation projects, mainly involving teaching, scientific research, international student exchanges, cooperative curriculum construction and other cooperation projects of common interest to both sides.
