Wen Xin, an international student from Nigeria, said that “I have spent three Spring Festivals in China. I can make dumplings and I especially like noodles” as she was showing her paper-cuts. On February 1, Taiyuan University of Technology held the 2021 International Student Spring Festival Cultural Experience Activity with the theme of “Celebrating the New Year Together and Enjoying the Chinese Traditional Culture.” More than 20 international students made paper-cuts, wrote Spring Festival couplets, and experienced traditional Chinese culture.
At the event, students and teachers cut paper for window decoration and wrote Spring Festival couplets. Currently, more than 230 international students has stayed in TYUT during the vacation. A series of activities for students during the festival were organized, including sports and cultural activities." said Li Wenbin, deputy dean of the College of International Education Exchange. It aims to enrich students’ life and provide them a better platform to understand Chinese traditional culture and the customs of the Spring Festival at the same time.
