On June 26, Gomel State University of Belarus, the University of Wollongong of Australia, and the University of Skövde of Sweden visited TYUT to discuss topics such as joint talent cultivation, scientific research collaboration, and participation in international projects. Vice President Sang Shengbo met with representatives from the three universities.
In the morning, Sang Shengbo met with Aliaksandr Rahachou, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, former GSU Rector, foreign chief scientist of the China-Belarus International Joint Laboratory of Vacuum Plasma Technology, and TYUT Honorary Professor, as well as Dzmitry Piliptsou, GSU Laboratory Director. Sang affirmed the achievements of the decade-long collaboration between TYUT and GSU, and expressed hope to leverage the existing cooperation as a foundation for comprehensive and interconnected development. Rahachou applauded TYUT’s rapid progress and expressed willingness to draw on TYUT’s experience to explore collaborations in joint talent cultivation, faculty and student exchanges, and establishment of joint laboratories.
Subsequently, Sang Shengbo met with Jiangtao Xi, Associate Dean (Global Engagement) of UOW Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences. Sang congratulated Professor G.Q. Max Lu on taking up his rule as UOW Vice-Chancellor and president, and reviewed the progress of the joint educational project between the two sides. He emphasized the importance of further internationalizing student cultivation. Xi thanked TYUT for its support. Sang and Xi engaged in in-depth discussions on curriculum alignment, faculty allocation, student management, and quality assurance. They explored future collaboration directions and work plans, agreeing to consolidate existing achievements and seek broader cooperation.
In the afternoon, Sang Shengbo met with Wei Wang, US Professor and Chair of COST program European Network for Multiple View Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment, to explore possibilities for participating in COST programs. Sang expressed TYUT’s willingness to support pan-European research networks and expand China-Europe cooperation through green technology research. Wang stated that he would promote TYUT’s role as an international partner to contribute to global sustainable development.
Representatives from the International Cooperation Department and related colleges attended the meetings. These visits laid a solid foundation for deepening collaboration between TYUT and the three partner universities.
