Sheng Shishan is a researcher at Dalian Institute of Chemistry Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He studied Chemistry Physics at Fudan University from 1962 to 1967. In 1978, he started working in the field of surface science. He received the training of surface science equipment in VG Scientific of UK in 1986. He became a visiting scholar in German FhG-IGB from 1993 to 1994. He was awarded the title advanced individual who has made great contributions to the national key laboratory(Golden Bull Award) by State Development Planning Commission, State Education Commission and Chinese Academy of Sciences. Besides, he is a member of committee of surface analysis technology at Chinese Standardization Administration, a peer review expert in fund application for National Natural Science Foundation of China, and a member of the panel for the advanced workshop on methods of modern catalytic research in China.
