On Dec. 22nd, the opening ceremony of TYUT’s Research Institute of Environmental Protection Industry Innovation was held in the conference room 304 in Borui Building, Mingxiang Campus where College of Environmental Science and Engineering was located. The ceremony was attended by president Huang Qingxue and vice-president Lv Yongkang as well as directors from related provincial government departments and enterprises in Shanxi province.
On behalf of TYUT, Mr. Huang expressed sincere welcome to all the distinguished guests. He said that since the 18th national congress of the CPC, the issue of ecological and environmental protection has been raised to an unprecedented position. As one of the universities that set up environmental discipline earlier in China, TYUT devoted to promoting scientific and technological innovation and integration between production and education, and the development of environmental protection industry and protection of ecological resources. The establishment of the Research Institute was a product of TYUT’s comprehensive reform.
Mr. Lv, dean of Research Institute of Environmental Protection Industry Innovation, introduced the establishment and development plan of the research institute. He pointed out that, based on the existing disciplines related to the ecological environment and the technology service platform from College of Environmental Science and Engineering and Shanxi Key Lab of Coal Science and Technology, the research institute would actively promote technological research and development, commercialization of the innovative achievements and industry incubation, and develop high-end think tank of ecological civilization and students’ practice teaching training, etc. TYUT would strive to build the research institute into a first-class platform for industry-education-research cooperation on ecological civilization in China.
