On the morning of June 3, the opening ceremony of 2019 Graduate Works Exhibition was held at the art museum at Mingxiang campus.
In response to the initiative of Shanxi Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism - the most beautiful villages, this graduation exhibition is themed "Sketching Nature and Topologizing Countryside: Art Serving Poverty Alleviation", collecting more than 2000 works of over 600 graduates from six majors including arts and crafts, visual communication design, environmental design, film and television photography and production, animation and painting. From the perspective of their respective majors, the students explored the artistic wisdom and unique path of the beautiful rural construction and poverty alleviation plan through tourism.
The works exhibited not only present the natural ecology and farmers' life, but also explore the cultural and creative design of rural tourism. It not only designs landscape architecture and space environment of traditional villages, but also thinks about protecting traditional crafts and inheriting regional culture. These works reflect the concern and longing of teachers and students from College of Art for the future development of Shanxi countryside and the happy life of farmers.
During the three-week exhibition, the college also invited Paola Anziche, an Italian contemporary artist, and Francesco Bernardelli, an Italian art historian, new media artist and professor of art history at NABA new academy of art in Milan, to conduct a two-week symposium on "fiber art history and contemporary fiber art". This WORKSHOP is divided into two parts: WORKSHOP and art history. The purpose of this WORKSHOP is to let students understand the development of western modern and contemporary art, compare the differences between Chinese and western art, expand their ideas and build their artistic thinking. At the same time, this WORKSHOP also responded to the call of "Belt & Road" and contributed to cross-cultural art in an international perspective.
