The graduation season comes in June as every graduate expects. Due to the outbreak of the COVID-19, Taiyuan University of Technology (TYUT) decided to hold an online commencement ceremony on June 21st.The ceremony was broadcast live on various media and social media platforms such as Microblog, Tik Tok and Kuaishou. Students who cannot return to school also got the chance to attend the graduation ceremony through the internet.
The year 2020 is doomed to be a special year. Despite the difficulties during this pandemic, students of TYUT persist in acquiring professional knowledge and writing academic theses. Among the class of 2020 in TYUT, a total of 10,088 graduates are awarded their degrees.
At 10 o'clock in the morning, Zheng Qiang, the Secretary of the CPC (Communist Party of China) Committee of TYUT, announced that “the commencement ceremony of Taiyuan University of Technology in 2020 begins.”
The president of TYUT Huang Qingxue delivered his warmest congratulatory speech with the title of “promising youngsters on the threshold of a new life, aspiring people on the struggling road without regret”to all graduates.
He firstly expressed sincere congratulations and good wishes to the graduates, and expressed heartfelt thanks to all the teachers, relatives and friends who have worked hard and dedicated to the growth of graduates.
He said: “You are the first batch of freshmen after I serve as the president of Taiyuan University of Technology. I am pleased to see that you have made all efforts to acquire professional knowledge and gain experience for growth.”
He encouraged graduates to establish lofty ideals, live up to responsibilities and make a significant contribution to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
The valedictorians presented flowers to the teachers and representatives of various service and security departments of TYUT and expressed their gratitude, which affected everyone present.
At the end of the ceremony, all the teachers and students presented the university anthem of TYUT, which created a warm atmosphere in the ceremony.
