2021/10/25 16:18:13

The IEEE 5th Conference on Energy Internet and Energy System Integration was held from October 22 to 24 in a hybrid online-offline model with more than 1000 experts and representatives from universities at home and abroad, scientific institutions and manufacturing enterprises related to electric and energy equipment.

The conference was co-hosted by IEEE PES, Chinese Society of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University and Taiyuan University of Technology, and co-organized by Tsinghua University Energy Internet Research Institute, IEEE PES, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, China Electrotechnical Society, Shanxi Electrotechnical Society and Chinese Association of Automation.

With the theme of carbon neutrality and energy internet, the conference focuses on the theory, path, application demonstration and practice of energy and power transformation with the goal of China's carbon peak and carbon neutral, and aims to construct a widely interconnected, intelligent, interactive, flexible, safe and controllable new power system that is with new energy as the main body.

On the morning of October 23, the chairman of the conference, Shu Yinbiao, the academician of the CAE, the chairman of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering, IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission), and China Huaneng Group, Sun Hongbin, the deputy secretary of the CPC TYUT committee and the vice president of TYUT , Saifur Rahman, president-elect of the International Institute of Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE), and Bian Jianhua, chairman of the Power and Energy Branch of the IEEE, delivered speeches respectively at the opening ceremony. Xiao Liantuan, vice president of our school, attended the meeting. Lin Mingshan, vice chairman of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering, presided over the opening ceremony.

On behalf our school, Sun Hongbin expressed warm welcome to the academicians, experts and scholars present. In addition to introducing the historical culture and spiritual characteristics of Shanxi with enthusiasm, he made a brief introduction of TYUT. He pointed out that Shanxi not only is the comprehensive pilot province of energy revolution, but also has the most challenging task to achieve Dual Carbon Goal.

Listed in the construction plan of Double First-Class universities, TYUT actively seeks for connections with Dual Carbon Goal and explores a new path with TYUT characteristics under the background of national needs and Shanxi economic transformation and development. The conference is held in Taiyuan, which has a significant meaning. It is hoped that we can take the conference as an opportunity to accelerate the energy revolution and transformation and strive to explore a new path of achieving Dual Carbon Goal.

A total of 1122 papers from different countries and regions were collected during the conference. After strict review by more than 300 professors and experts, 845 papers were accepted and 30 outstanding papers were selected. The conference consists of 24 technology forums, 17 national key R&D plan "Smart Grid Technology and Equipment" seminars, 70 Paper Talks and 5 poster exchange activities. The high-level academic exchanges and seminars conducted at the conference will further promote the research and development of core technologies in China's electrical and energy fields, and play a positive role in promoting the high-quality development of China's electrical and energy technology and achieving Dual Carbon Goal.
