During the summer vacation, Taiyuan University of Technology (TYUT) organized a short-term international academic visit for 55 students based on strict and just selection for.

From July 15th to August 19th, 17 students of TYUT visited Duke University, University of Cambridge, and University of Oxford. Students and teachers from TYUT and other international universities who were leaded by the professors of the top universities took part in courses, case analyses and laboratories. Tasting the academic fascination of those elite universities, students also improved their language ability and research capacity.

From July 23rd to August 11th, 22 students from Polytechnic Institute of TYUT had a short-term study at University of Cambridge. They participated the courses of established professors, including business and humanity courses which covered global economy, economic history of the United Kingdom, globalization and innovative administration, Modern and Contemporary British History and Shakespearian literature, etc. Students impressed the lecturers and tutors with their presentations and final speeches after group discussion, self-study, material searching and case study.

Meanwhile, 16 graduates fully funded by TYUT studied in Lucy Cavendish College at University of Cambridge where they received lectures by professors from various areas. Through the three-month study, students knew better about the learning pattern and academic fascination of Cambridge and developed global thinking and vision, which would bring more opportunities to them in the future.

In the academic trip, 55 students of TYUT entered the world’s top universities and were immersed in the international courses and English language environment. They fulfilled various learning tasks successfully, improved their English language skills and broaden their academic horizon. Also, they got a deep understanding of Higher Education under different educational systems and developed international thinking, which laid a foundation for their future study in international universities and work in foreign corporations. In addition, the students also seized the opportunity to show TYUT’s schooling concepts and teaching achievements, contributing to the internalization of TYUT and its “double first-rate” establishment.
