TYUT 2026 Track and Field Meet a Huge Success

From April 24 to 25, the 2026 Student Track and Field Meet of Taiyuan University of Technology (TYUT) was held at the East Track and Field Ground of Mingxiang Campus. A total of 30 delegations and over 1,000 athletes participated in the event.

President Sun Hongbin Attended the “Towards Science” International Scientific and Practical Dialogue

At 15:00 Beijing time (10:00 Moscow time) on March 24, the “Towards Science” International Scientific and Practical Dialogue, co-organized by TYUT and Saint Petersburg Mining University, commenced. The conference was held in a hybrid format, with the main venue at SPMU and an online sub-venue at TYUT’s Yingxi Campus. Attendees included SPMU Rector Vladimir Litvinenko, Luo Zhanhui, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in St. Petersburg, Sun Hongbin, TYUT President and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Yang Xiaowei, TYUT Academic Vice President, along with representatives from relevant administrative and academic departments, as well as faculty and students from both sides.

TYUT’s Materials Science Ranks in ESI Global Top 1‰, Computer Science Newly Listed in ESI Global Top 1%

On March 12, Clarivate Analytics, a global provider of authoritative professional information, released the latest statistical results of the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) for March 2026. TYUT achieved a milestone breakthrough in disciplinary development: Materials Science has ranked in the ESI global top 1‰ for the first time, officially joining the ranks of world-leading disciplines. This brings the number of TYUT’s ESI global top 1‰ disciplines to two. Additionally, Computer Science has newly entered the ESI global top 1%, adding a significant new growth pole to TYUT’s disciplinary landscape. The achievements mark a leap forward in TYUT’s international academic influence and core competitiveness.

  • TYUT’s Project Selected for the China Pavilion of the World Congress of Architects 2026

    ​Recently, exciting news arrived from the international architecture community: the “Fenhe River Main Stream (Qingxu Section) Dike Top Road and Adjacent Areas Comprehensive Management Project”, co-designed by a team from TYUT’s Architectural Design and Research Institute and the College of Architecture and Art, including teachers Gao Jing and Feng Yaru, has been successfully selected for the China Pavilion of the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 (Barcelona), thanks to its outstanding ecological value, forward-looking design concept, and profound humanistic care.

    ​On November 21st, the Chinese Academy of Sciences announced the results of the 2025 academician election, and Professor Sun Hongbin of TYUT was elected as an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

  • Conference for the Establishment of the International Students Education Alliance in Shanxi Held at TYUT

    To further integrate international student education resources within Shanxi province, consolidate collaborative efforts in nurturing talents, and deepen the development of the Study in Shanxi brand, the International Students Education Alliance in Shanxi was established at TYUT on November 12th. Li Jinbi, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director-General of Shanxi Provincial Education Department, and Shen Xingquan, Secretary of TYUT Party Committee, attended the conference and delivered speeches. The conference also brought together deputy leaders and heads of departments responsible for international students from 15 universities across the province authorized to enroll international students.
